State Highway 58 has undergone significant safety upgrades over recent years, with Tascon proud to have delivered the majority of the barrier installation works completed on the route to date.
Tascon’s scope included the installation of approximately 1,000 metres of ground beam and surface-mounted MASH TL3 W-Section barrier, around 3 kilometres of MASH-compliant wire rope barrier, and approximately 2 kilometres of driven MASH TL3 W-Section barrier.
Challenging ground conditions along sections of the corridor required a tailored installation approach, particularly for the wire rope barrier system. To achieve the required performance and compliance outcomes, wire rope anchor sockets were pre-drilled prior to installation, ensuring the barriers met MASH requirements and Waka Kotahi specifications.
